About the Workshop
Fungi – Affair is the continuation of the ongoing project, Mycology for Artists, created in collaboration with Blooming Diversity (Maya Corona), with guidance from Rocio Graham, support from the Alberta Mycological Society, and financial support from the Canada Council for the Arts.
The first part of this project is a series of nature walks in the foothills of Kananaskis, Alberta. Around 30 people participate in these slow, meditative walks, which serve as a way to introduce the iNaturalist project to citizens and artists who love the outdoors and the fungi kingdom.
This workshop is intended for the people who attend those walks, fungi lovers, and friends.
We’ll work with fungi-inspired objects, drawings, spore prints, ideas, pressed botanicals, mushrooms, acetates, and negative photographs.
PM Open Book Session: Anna Atkins and the origins of cyanotype in botany, photography, art, and design, along with Ernst Haeckel’s Art Forms in Nature.
Inti Studio is a warm, welcoming, family-style, multi-art space.
We will enjoy an afternoon of hands-on creativity and a shared love for fungi. You’ll take home 3 unique cyanotype art prints plus 1 larger masterpiece.
No experience necessary!
Playful, fun, and experimental technique!
