For the love of Orchids
This series of digital collage pieces are inspired by my father's photographic and illustrative work in his books 'Orchids of Bolivia.' I've been fortunate to explore some Alberta and British Columbia areas and find Canada's most beautiful and delicate orchids in the wild. My collages intend to build a bridge to connect two worlds I love, the rainforest of my childhood in South America and the Canadian wilderness. These images are reflections of my past and present. I play with transparency and layering as symbols of my family's emotional interactions and the architectural elements of my family home growing up.
