Supporting Nature Education Through Art Sales
Why should you invest today in art and education?
This 48-hour flash sale is to raise funds for my 2026 nature education initiative.
created this flash fundraiser to support my course fees, research, webinars, presentations, and experimentation, as well as free community engagement activities like workshops, exhibitions, collaborations, and hikes, to bring us together.
Over the years, I've seen how being in nature brings us into a safe space, especially if it's with friends or family. It feels like a poncho over the shoulders. It feels warm, healing and cozy.
By learning the names of plants, places, people, and cultures, we come to know the world and feel at home. The sparks we share and the connections we make along strengthen the invisible lines that tie us to each other and to the living world.
Nature is a great place to learn; it sparks curiosity and awe in all of us. These sparks are like seeds. We carry them along until they're ready to explode and create a commotion among us. Through learning, we try to understand this incredible planet, and from that understanding and awe, the need to protect it, care for it, share it, and love it. I’m happy to call myself a student and a guide.
Where the funds go: 100% of the proceeds from this sale will directly cover my nature education programs this year, including Germinate and Mycophilia with the Biophilium, summer forays, trips, and nature guide facilitation. It will also fund the books, guides, and research materials for this art-and-science community project.

Words from the community
I had the privilege to partake in a guided nature walk from Milena. During her guided nature walks, she demonstrates an expansive knowledge of orchids and mushroom identification, consistently offering 'fun facts' and deep insights. She shares her creativity by encouraging participants to gather natural elements and use curiousity as a tool for learning and play. Her ability to bridge the gap between scientific observation and artistic expression is a valuable asset. Her facilitation skills and openness allows participants to delight in the natural world, learn about mushrooms and orchids, and leaving with a feeling of connection to nature. I would recommend her nature walks for anyone who wants to learn more about their natural setting and have a strengthened relationship to nature.
— Cosmina Listor
Going on a mountain walk with Milena is so much more than just a hike; it’s a whole experience. She has this incredible way of making you feel looked after from the moment you start, always setting a beautiful intention that helps the whole group actually slow down and be present.
What I love most is how she brings her father’s legacy as a biologist into her own art. She’ll point out the smallest orchid or the tiniest mushroom and explain a little bit about it, but then you see her capturing it through her lens or planning a cyanotype, and it all comes together. She has taught us about some of the medicinal side of the forest and how everything, the fungi, the trees, and us, is connected.
Milena is a natural leader and a true community builder who finds the art in the science. Supporting her studies at The Biophilium wouldn’t just help her own practice; it would enrich all of us who she shares her knowledge and creativity with.
— Maya Corona
I have had the wonderful opportunity to get to know Milena Vasquez over the last 6 years as an artist, botanist, educator, collaborator, and outdoor guide. Milena generously shares her knowledge and curiosity about mushrooms, moss, and orchids with her artist friends, leading us on walks to experience the natural world. During these walks, Milena invites us to get close, witness, and wonder at the stories plants tell and the stories told about them. I know the courses at the Biophilium will support Milena's curiosity which will benefit not only her but also the wider (artist) community as we all learn and experience nature together

Have Questions?
Art is a conversation, and I am here to help you bring your “peace” to life. If you’re looking for a specific size to fit your home, exploring custom printing materials, or trying to find the perfect framing option to capture that sense of quiet peace, please know we can co-create it together.
Every space is unique, and I am happy to tailor any photograph in this collection to match your vision.
Please feel free to reach out anytime. If you need guidance on dimensions, have a special request, or just want to chat about the stories behind the flowers, I am only a message away.
Tailored Cyanotype Workshops: If you have questions about the alternative photography masterclass, want to book a special group session, or want to explore a specific creative project in my Canyon Meadows studio, I am happy to customize the day for you.
The stories we shared in the woods are like seeds; they take root within us, grow in our bellies, sprout from our ears, and then you’re a flower pot head.
